Newcastle United midfielder Matthew Longstaff was on the starting lineup for England U20 as the Young Lions secured an impressive 3-0 win over Iceland.
Longstaff was deployed to central midfield where he is believed to have produced an outstanding performance before he was replaced by Ipswich Town's Flynn Downes after 72 minutes of action.
Reading forward Danny Loader scored the first goal for the Young Lions before Manchester City's Ian Poveda-Ocampo scored a brace to seal it for the youngsters - that's two wins in six days.
Longstaff was handed his official debut when he came off the bench in the second half of Thursday's 4-0 win over Portugal.
Speaking in an interview with the club's official TV, he said: "You always want to play for your national team - it's a big thing - and to get to do it tonight and get my first start was pretty big.
"In Portugal, I came off the bench and we were 4-0 up at the time, so coming on there was pretty comfortable.
"Tuesday night, getting your first start, it's a bit quicker. It was a bit tougher, the way (Iceland) set up, but it was good to finally unlock them."
