Inter Milan are reportedly in contention to extend striker Lautaro Martinez's current contract according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Martinez has emerged as one of the solid talents in the Serie A and it comes at no surprise that he has attracted the interest of clubs like Barcelona who reportedly wanted him as a possible replacement for striker Luis Suarez.
According to latest reports, Inter's board are keen to extend the Argentina international's contract which is set to expire in the summer of 2023; they are said to be doing to this to fend off the interest of the other clubs.
However, Barcelona's board don't seem to be bothered by the extension of the contract as they prepared to discuss Martinez's release clause currently set at €111 million - this might motivate Inter to increase the clause in his upcoming new contract.
Martinez has scored 13 goals, provided three assists from 19 matches played across all competitions.
