Frank Lampard reveals John Terry's words after Stamford Bridge return with Aston Villa

After John Terry returned to the Stamford Bridge with Aston Villa, Frank Lampard revealed the former Chelsea skipper congratulated him after the win.

Terry returned to his old stomping yard as the Aston Villa assistant manager but his comeback was soiled after the 2-1 loss.

Chelsea returned to winning ways after back to back defeats against Manchester City and West Ham United courtesy of goals from Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount while Mohamed Hassan scored for Villa.

Speaking in a press conference after the game, Lampard was asked what Terry said to him after the game, "Nothing much special, just you know, it was a "well done" and he had his moment on the pitch.

"It’s difficult when you come back – I did it last year – to a club that you feel so much for. And vice versa, as they [the fans] are with John. And you’re working, and you’re part of another team and part of another club.

"He’s respectful of Aston Villa, I know that. So it wasn’t a massive celebration time, but of course, the respect both ways is huge."
