Sheffield United are reportedly interested in resuming their interest in Genk midfielder Sander Berge after they failed to secure his services in January this year, Sheffield Star revealed.
The report revealed that the Norway international is still a transfer target for Sheffield and they could be moving in on him ahead of the January 2020 transfer window.
It is believed that the reason for Berge rejecting the move to the Blades was due to fears of the side potentially fighting for relegation this season and that wasn't the risk he was willing to take at this stage of his career.
Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the 21-year-old's movements and the two Premier League clubs could end up battling it out for the youngster's signature.
Berge has, however, become one of Belgium's rising stars all while being heavily linked with Serie A side Napoli.
The budding midfielder has featured in 24 matches in the Belgian First Division A this season; he scored two goals while playing in the defensive midfield position.
He played in all five matches that Genk played in the UEFA Champions League, he also featured against Liverpool and Napoli respectively.
Berge played in 40 matches across all competitions during the 2018/19 season for Genk, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
The 21-year-old has made 20 appearances for the Norway national team.
