Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has told his side that they need to 'work' extra hard if they are to get back to winning ways following yet another defeat.
The Blues have stuttered in recent weeks in the Premier League following a fine run in which they picked six consecutive wins, and have only picked a single win in their last four matches.
Their latest stumble was at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, where they suffered a shock 3-1 loss away to Everton.
The hosts took a first-half lead through Richarlison's header five minutes into the game and doubled their lead minutes after the restart.
Chelsea pulled one back but were undone once again with five minutes to go, as the hosts recorded a morale-boosing win.
"It was definitely an extra dangerous time to play against Everton because they did have a bounce and I expected that, and they have good players,"
"I think in work-rate we generally match up but in moments of physical contact, they were direct, that is understandable, and we have to deal with that. We did not deal with it well enough,"
He then went on to explain what is needed to return to the consistency of results and performance level his team were showing not long ago.
"Work," he stated when asked on how they can be better. "We had it nice, we were winning games but this is the Premier League and we went to City and played pretty well and lost the game but the two defeats since then are signs of where we need to get better,"
Chelsea will next host Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday in a must-win tie, before reutrining to the Premier League.
