Arsenal team news: The five players who will not be available to face Manchester City

Arsenal will play host to Premier League defending champions Manchester City on Sunday evening in an eagerly anticipated clash at the Emirates.

Freddie Ljungberg's men will be keen on ending their recent slump in the league, which has seen them slide to ninth on the log on 22 points, seven points off fourth-placed Chelsea on 29 points in the race for a top-four finish.

The Gunners will, however, have to do the job without a number of their stars, who will be out following various injuries.

Hector Bellerin

The Spaniard will miss the tie with a tight right hamstring, having also missed the Europa League match against Standard Lieges in midweek.

He, however, aims to resume training next week and will be available for the busy Christmas schedule.

Dani Ceballos

Ceballos has been out with a left hamstring he sustained during the away tie in the Europa League against Vitoria SC on November 6.

There is however good news as just like Bellerin, he is aiming to return to full training next week.

Rob Holding

The defender has endured a frustrating start to the campaign with a series of injuries, with the latest a left knee bruise.

He will miss the Manchester City clash, and won't be ready for full training until, at least, the turn of the year.

Kieran Tierney

The youngster dislocated his right shoulder during the West Ham match and is set for surgery next week.

He is set to be out for at least three months, coming as a huge setback considering he only returned from a long-term injury a few weeks ago.

Granit Xhaka

Another player who was withdrawn during the West Ham match was the former captain after suffering a concussion.

Xhaka sustained a strike to the head from the ball and won't be available when they entertain Pep Guardiola's men. His case will is being managed as per concussion protocols.
