Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that Southampton's Danny Ings is a player that deserves to be recalled to the England national for his impressive displays at the club this season.
Leicester City's Jamie Vardy is currently the only player who has scored more goals than Ings' 14 in the Premier League this season - Ings is on the same amount of goals with Manchester United's Marcus Rashford.
Ing's has been capped once for England and that was back in October 2015 when he came on as a substitute for the Three Lions, however, his international career was hit with two knee injuries during his time at Liverpool - he has been on the mend ever since and it is looking positive for the 27-year-old.
"Ings is doing brilliantly. He makes a lot of goals out of nothing," said Wright on BBC Radio 5 Live.
"I hope he can continue his form. After what he has been through he deserves it."
"When you see the goals he is scoring - brilliant runs, half chances - if he can continue that form he can have a Toto Schillaci or a Diego Forlan [tournament]," Wright said.
Ings has scored 40% of all his Premier League goals this season and has netted with 25% of his shots.
Below are some of the statistics of Premier League goals so far this season and why Ings can stand a chance with the England squad if he continues to be consistent and remain on top form.
