Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to Gary Neville criticism of Ed Woodward

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Gary Neville that it wasn’t time to discuss the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

After their seventh defeat of the season against Liverpool on Sunday, Neville said that Woodward’s record in leading the United was 'unforgivable' and opined that he didn’t warrant the amount he was earning at the club.

The sentiments were supported by United fans who called for Woodward’s ouster on social media but Solskjaer on his part called for unity in his Tuesday press briefing ahead of their midweek tie against Burnley.

“For me, now is not the time to speak about recruitment. We're looking to the next game against Burnley. We're always looking to improve the squad and to improve the club but for my mind, now is not the time, Gary, to start this discussion.

"You can look back at history and, of course, we know we're not where we want to be and should be and historically where we have been. It's just down to us now to work better.

"I've been here 13 months, my experience with the players we've brought in has been good, so no complaints whatsoever,” Solskjaer said.

United will hope they can close the gap between them and fourth-place Chelsea when they host Burnley at Old Trafford with the Premier League giants currently sitting fifth with 34 points.
