Manchester United have been handed a favorable draw in the FA Cup Fourth Round after Tranmere Rovers pulled off an upset by beating Watford.
The replay was postponed due to the condition of the pitch at Rovers' Prenton Park with the tie rescheduled for Thursday, January 24.
Watford were in action on Tuesday against Aston Villa so it was no surprise that they named a highly inexperienced side but United were still forced to wait even longer to discover their opponents.
The match was tied 1-1 at full-time, after Watford debutant Kaylen Hinds canceled out Manny Monthe's first-half opener with twenty minutes remaining, taking the game to extra-time.
The League One side regained their lead through Paul Mullins and they managed to hold on to earn themselves a historic match against United.
Tranmere and United have faced each other just once before, way back in 1976 when the Reds ran out 5-0 winners in the League Cup, but the U23s did face them in the Football League trophy this season, losing 3-2.
