Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel, Barcelona Ladies striker Asisat Oshoala and former Nigerian winger Mutiu Adepoju have paid tributes to late basketball legend Kobe Bryant.
Bryant, 41, died on Sunday in a helicopter crash alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and three others.
The former LA Lakers star was reportedly heading to the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks for a basketball game scheduled for Sunday when his helicopter crashed into a hillside in Calabasas, California.
The incident has thrown the world into mourning, with some Nigerian footballers joining their counterparts across the globe to pay tribute to the Bryant family.
Mikel posted a picture of Kobe on the court and wrote: "Rest in Peace legend. My prayers and thoughts are with your family 🖤"
Super Falcons captain Oshoala wrote on twitter: “Prayers up for Kobe’s family…devastating news."
Adepoju a member of the Super Eagles 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad wrote: “Death is just so cruel. RIP King Kobe Bryant.”
