Tanzania Premier League leaders on Tuesday opened a 13-point lead with a 2-1 win over a stubborn Tanzania Polisi at National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
Ibrahim Ajibu was the hero of the day as he scored a 95th-minute winner to hand Simba all the three points. The visitors were the first on the board when Sixtus Sabilo netted in the 22nd minute. John Bocco cancelled the lead in the 57th minute. Polisi looked like they were on their way home with a well-earned point against Simba before Ajibu popped up in the 95th minute and rifled a rocket from six yards out.
The win sees Simba solidify their lead at the top of the league with 50 points while Polisi remain seventh with 30 points.
In another match played on Tuesday, JKT Tanzania played out to a one-all draw with visiting Coastal Union. The result means that JKT remain 8th with 27 points while Coastal Union go above Kagera Sugar in fifth with 31 points.
The league continues today with five matches on the card.
