Serie A Round-up: Lazio miss chance to go 2nd after Verona draw

The Serie A’s top scorer Ciro Immobile missed the chance to add to his 25 league goals this season at the Stadio Olimpico last night as his side drew 0-0 against Hellas Verona in their game in hand.

In 22 matches, on-form Immobile has 25 goals, with Juve’s Cristiano Ronaldo coming in second with 19 in 19 matches.

Lazio keeper Thomas Strakosha was also on fire last night, ensuring his clean sheet with a superb double save to deny Matteo Pessina and then Fabio Borini in the 16th minute.

With this draw, Simone Inzaghi's side closed to within a point of second-placed Inter Milan.

They sit four points behind leaders Juventus and 11 points clear of fourth-placed Atalanta who occupy the final Champions League berth, ahead of Roma on goal difference.
