The Democratic Republic of Congo international Parfait Mandanda will join US second division side Hartford Athletic from Belgian side Charleroi.
The Congolese goalkeeper decided to move on from the Belgian side after finding himself used sparingly by the club it matches. He has been fourth in the pecking order at the club.
The USL Championship side has decided to welcome Mandanda to American football, or soccer, in a loan deal and they have an option to make it permanent.
Before he crosses over the Atlantic, Mandanda will train with non-league side ASF Le Perreux in France. He is in line to feature for the club in this weekend's fixtures.
Parfait is the younger brother to French international and Marseilles captain Steve. They also have two other brothers Riffi, who plays for Rennes and Over in Creteil. They are all goalkeepers.
Mandanda was named in the DR Congo squad against France B on 5 February 2008. Mandanda only played in the second half but missed out on a place in the history books as his older brother Steve only played in the first half for France.
Officially, he gained his first cap for Congo DR national football team against Gabon on 25 March 2008. He won bronze at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
