Sudanese Football Federation on Thursday officially unveiled Hubert Velud as the national team coach on a one-year contract.
The French tactician has been tasked with ensuring that Sudan makes it to the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021 as well mount a credible challenge in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.
Velud has previously coached Togo, guiding them to the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola. It will be remembered that he was shot in the arm as Togo made it'sway to its camp through rebel-controlled Cabinda entrance in northern Angola.
He has also handled a number of African clubs and was recently dismissed as the head coach of Algerian side JS Kabylie after a poor show in CAF Confederation Cup.
His first assignment will be to prepare The Crodiles against Ghana in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
