Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane made no excuses after his side was eliminated from the Copa del Rey following a 4-3 defeat in the hands of Real Sociedad.
Martin Odegaard, who is on loan from Madrid opened the scoring for Real Sociedad before Alexander Isak's quickfire double handed the visitors a 3-0 lead. Marcelo and Rodrygo pulled goals back for Real either side of the visitors' fourth, which came from Mikel Merino before Nacho set up a nervous finish with a header in the 93rd minute.
The visitors finished the match with ten men as Andoni Gorosabel was shown a second yellow card in stoppage.
"This is football. Things have not gone as we wanted. It was a complicated game, but we tried until the end and the reaction was good," he said.
"Despite losing 1-4, we have fought until the end, but it has not been possible. We must congratulate the opponent and also accept losing."
Madrid who are currently on top of the La Liga table with 49 points, 3 above second-placed Barcelona will travel to Estadio El Sadar to take on Osasuna.
