Scotland international John McGinn is reportedly close to making his injury return which will give Aston Villa a massive boost which they have been in desperate need of.
McGinn suffered a serious injury after he broke his ankle during Villa's home 3-1 loss to Southampton on December 21 and has been on the sidelines since.
The Villans are set for a trip to St Mary's Stadium on Saturday to face Southampton and manager Dean Smith will not be able to make use of McGinn as of yet; however, it was confirmed that he has returned to the squad and is taking part in light training.
Smith has previously revealed via The Athletic that his star midfielder would likely be available for the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on March 1 and his return will be vital for the team.
