Serie A matches postponed due to Corona Virus fears

Four Italian Serie A match have been postponed, following the deaths of two people infected with the coronavirus from China.

Three matches thaat were scheduled for Saturday evening were called off, with the remaining match, Inter Milan against Sampdoria scheduled for Sunday also affected. 

The other three matches postponed were; Atalanta vs. Sassuolo, Hellas Verona vs. Cagliari and Torino vs. Parma.

"The government is working on urgent measures to decisively confront and contain the cases of coronavirus contagion,'' read a letter from sports minister Vincenzo Spadafora.

"Those measures also include the sports world in order to prevent risks and to better take care of the health of those involved in the events and competition.

"Following measures taken by the cabinet for protective reasons and maximum precaution, on orders of the government I'm asking you to suspend all sports events of every level and discipline planned for the Lombardy and Veneto regions on Sunday."

Two other matches; Genoa vs Lazio and AS Roma vs Lecce will go on as planned on Sunday. 

Juventus extended their lead at the top of the league with a 2-1 win away to Spal on Saturday evening, and now hold a six-point lead over Antonio Conte's men.
