Ghanaian defender Jonathan Mensah was on the scoresheet for Columbus Crew as they went on to secure the Tuscon Sun Cup after beating Houston Dynamo.
Mensah and fellow countryman Harrison Afful made the difference for their side and were instrumental in the entire tournament.
American striker Gyasi Zardes scored the opener after 35 seconds before Mensah levelled matters for Columbus Crew three minutes later.
Lucas Zelarayan made it three for the Gold and Black while Afful provided the assist for Zardes to score his second of the day.
Columbus Crew will kick off their Major League Soccer season when they travel to Champions Seattle Sounders on March 8, 2020.
