Etoile du Sahel are confident of overturning the 2-0 deficit when they host Wydad Casablanca in the return leg of CAF ChampionsLeague quarterfinal on Saturday in Sousse.
The Tunisians were felled by two goals by defender Mohammed Nahiri in each half to give Juan Carlos Garrido his first win in his first match as a Wydad coach. Garrido was sacked as Etoile coach three weeks ago.
Etoile president Chokri Lamiri said that the Sahel Stars will turn around the fixture and qualify for the semi-finals.
"We are far from our best and conceded the two goals from defensive lapses. We had very good scoring opportunities and I feel we should have at least scored a goal in that match. However, all is lost. We have to regroup and overturn this scoreline in a packed Rades stadium," he said.
The other Tunisian club in Champions League action is Esperance and will also be seeking to overturn a two-goal deficit after going down 3-1 against Zamalek in Cairo.
