Norwich City have reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time in 28 years after beating Tottenham 3-2 on penalties.
The two sides settled for a 1-1 draw after extra time forcing the tie to be settled through penalties. Jan Vertonghen had opened the scoring for Spurs in the 13th minute before Drmic scored the leveler in the second half. Tim Krul saved two penalties from Troy Parrott and Gedson Fernandes to dump Spurs.
Spurs had upped the ante in the last few moments and Norwich crumbled - like they have done so many times under pressure this season. Bergwijn won a foul down the left, about 30 yards out. Lo Celso was the man to deliver and produced a wonderful deep ball that was begging to be attacked. Vertonghen was the one that leaped with great determination and thumped home a header.
It was a nightmare for Vorm. Having not played since 2018 and it was easy to see why with mistakes like that. McClean fired a shot from 22 yards that was straight at the goalkeeper. It was powerful, yes, but a Premier League stopper should be catching those in his sleep. The ball spilled out of his grasp and Drmic - like all good strikers - followed it in. A combination of him and Sanchez bundled the ball over the line.
Norwich's reward for stunning Spurs is a home quarter-final against the winners of Thursday's final fifth-round tie between Derby County and Manchester United.
