Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that captain Harry Maguire missed the club's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Derby Country due to an ankle injury.
Maguire, who has impressed in United's recent matches wasn't part of the team that beat Derby 3-0 to advance to the last eight of the FA Cup. Luke Shaw opened the scoring for the Red Devils before Odion Ighalo grabbed a brace as Solskjaer's men eased past the Championship side.
Just before the match, the Norwegian revealed he rolled his ankle in training while admitting he could miss Sunday's, Manchester Derby.
"I had a word with him [Maguire] before training yesterday that I’m not going to rest him, but then he rolled his ankle in training," Solskjaer said.
"He had to stay at home and hopefully he’ll be ok for the weekend but I’m not sure."
The club's captain also revealed the news via his Twitter account where he expressed his disappointment.
"Disappointed to miss out through injury – working hard to get fit ASAP," he tweeted.
United booked a spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals and will meet Norwich City who eliminated Tottenham on penalties on Wednesday night.
