Chelsea ace Mason Mount has promised to ensure the hype around Billy Gilmour does not get into his head.
The teenager has impressed with two man-of-the-match performances this week, leading to comparisons with some of the football greats.
He first put in a flawless display against Liverpool in the FA Cup on Tuesday night, before another dominant display against a more aggressive Everton midfield in his first Premier League start on Sunday evening.
Speaking after the match, Mount, who opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge joined in the praises but promised to ensure he does not lose focus.
"He’s been dominant and confident on the ball, which is what you want," Mount said.
"The young players coming through are going to have these challenges. It’s obviously a big achievement to make it into the first team, to start a game at home at Stamford Bridge.
"He’s very grounded, got a good family around him and he’s a very screwed-on boy so it won’t get to him at all
‘I won’t let it get to him either - I’ll keep him grounded so he’ll be fine!" he added.
Gilmour is expected to continue in midfield partially thanks to injuries and suspensions to key midfielders.
Jorginho missed the clash at Everton as he serves a two-match suspension, and will also be out of the Champions League return match against Bayern Munich next week.
Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante, on the other hand, are both out with injuries, with their return dates yet to be made official.
