Odion Ighalo is reportedly ready to take a pay cut to turn his loan deal at Manchester United into a permanent one.
The Nigerian was signed in January on loan from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season.
He has, however, got off to a near-perfect start to his life at the club, scoring four goals in eight appearances, including three on his first three starts.
According to the Sun, the 30-year-old, who is said to be on a £240,000-a-week contract Shenhua, is willing to take a 50 percent pay cut to stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer.
Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also hinted at offering the former Watford striker a permanent deal following his good form.
“Odion has done really well since he came in and he’s enjoying himself,” Solskjaer said after the 5-0 win over LASK in the Europa League.
"And he will improve and get better but he has qualities we saw in him and we needed and we will still need those qualities for next season, so let’s see what we will do,” he added.
United are still short of men upfront, and despite Marcus Rashford nearing a return, the club will need a pair of legs having not replaced both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez who moved to Inter Milan last summer.
