Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan Bissaka is a better defender defensively that his Liverpool counterpart Trent Alexander-Arnold this according to United great Rio Ferdinand.
While hailing Trent as the 'ultimate machine' at right-back, Ferdinand believes Bissaka prowess in the one-versus-one situation makes him a threat to Trent’s position at the national team.
In an Instagram Q&A session, Ferdinand said: “If you molded them, two players, together, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Trent Alexander-Arnold, you've got the best player.
“Aaron Wan-Bissaka one-versus-one, I've seen Sterling play against him and Sterling rinses everybody, he finds it hard against Wan-Bissaka. One-versus-one he will match you physically, he will run with you, he will slide on the floor if you're getting away from him a little bit more and he has to go into overdrive.
“He can cover people, unbelievable. He could play right side of a back three at Man United if they wanted to, I think he'd be brilliant there.”
Bissaka has been one of the consistent performers for United this season since his £50million move from Crystal Palace in the summer while Trent Alexander-Arnold has been brilliant for Liverpool for the past two seasons.
Despite his outing, Bissaka is yet to break into Southgate's England plans Trent and Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier still ahead of him in the pecking order.
