Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are looking for a replacement for goalkeeper Manuel Nuer and has identified Barcelona shot-stopper Marc-André ter Stegen as the man to fill the void.
According to SPORT BILD Bayern are looking to bring the German international next summer with the keeper keen to return to his country of birth.
Talks between Bayern and Nuer has stalled and according to the reports there is a policy restricting them offering long-term deals to players over 30 with Nuer already at 33; his contract set to expire in 2021. Bayern is just willing to extend his deal for another year something that Nuer isn’t interested in.
It is claimed that Bayern has asked Ter Stegen to hold off committing his future to Barça with the goalkeeper’s deal with the Catalans set to expire in 2022.
Ter Stegen on his side is said to be keen on extending his stay at Barca but want a salary which is in line with the other top goalkeepers in world football
Since arriving from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2014, Ter Stegen has made 223 appearances for Barça helping them to win four LaLiga titles and the 2015 Champions League.
Nuer is said to be attracting interest from English Premier League side Chelsea if they can sell Kepa Arrizabalaga.
