Serie A giants Juventus are lining up a move for Real Madrid left back Marcelo when the transfer window re-opens.
According to Marca, Juve wants to bolster their left-back options and see Marcelo as a perfect player for the position.
The Brazilian season has been hampered by injuries and the arrival of Ferland Mendy from Lyon has not helped his situation with the player said to be keen in re-uniting with Cristiano Ronaldo whom they had a close relationship with.
Currently, Juventus have Alex Sandro at the position but manager Sarri wants someone who can push the Brazilian with 31-year-old Marcelo’s experience said to be one attribute that Juventus want on their side as they seek to have a good outing in the Champions League.
Marcelo still has two years remaining on his contract in Madrid and should be on his 16th season with the Laliga giants at the time his deal expires.
The reports say that Juventus had planned to start negotiation with the players camp next month but everything has been put on hold due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
Juventus will be offering are likely to table a four-year deal for their target who has made 505 appearances in total for Madrid since his 2007 switch from Fluminense.
During this time, the Brazilian has lifted 21 trophies that include four La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.
