Cristiano Ronaldo bought entire Juventus squad gifts as apology for red card

Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off in his first Champion League clash for Juventus after his arrival in 2018, and it has been revealed that he bought the whole Juventus squad iMacs as an apology.

This has been revealed by his team's goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who even added that it took the Ballon winner a few months to make it happen.

"It took a very long time because he couldn't process that red card and insisted high and low that he was not doing anything wrong."

"It took him a bit, about two months of arguing, but we all have received an iMac," Szczesny said.

On why Ronaldo had to buy the squad an apology gift, the former Arsenal man sad that that was former Juventus' boss Massimiliano Allegri's policy.

The club policy under Allegri was that any player to be found in breach of disciplinary rules must buy the rest of the squad a gift to apologize.

Szczesny also had his turn to buy gifts, he revealed, after he turned up for training late.

"I thought it was Tuesday, but it turned out to be Wednesday that day,” he explained.

"Allegri called me and said everyone was already there. When I arrived half an hour late on the training field, everyone said: 'oh, we're getting presents!' I ended up buying headphones for the boys."

Currently, the Old Lady is managed by former Chelsea and Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, and they sit one point clear of Lazio at the top of Serie A.
