Ghana international Emmanuel Boateng has reportedly accepted a pay cut from his club Hapoel Tel Aviv in a bid to avoid a contract termination, Ghanasoccernet reported.
Several clubs across the world have been thrown into a financial turmoil following the Covid19 pandemic; Barcelona and Bayern Munich are one of the few that have been in talks with their players with regards to their wages.
Boateng's teammates Marvin Pressman and Felipe Rodrigues saw their contracts being terminated after they failed to agree to pay cuts and the Ghanaian opted to do the opposite.
“Like all players, they also received a demand for a cut. Because their refusal was sent to them, we received legal advice that this was legal," according to one of the club's officials.
