Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have returned to training despite the ongoing coronavirus epidemic.
The players who have spent the past few weeks in isolation due the virus break were snapped smiling on Monday this coming despite the suspension of the Bundesliga until April 30 at the earliest.
The Monday session is reported to have involved the club's players only who trained in twos as they got back to work as the Dortmund base in Brackel.
It is however unclear when the European top five leagues will resume this season with tournaments like EURO 2020 and Copa America already having to be pushed back by one year.
Speaking on his return to training Dortmund’s Emre Can told Sport1: “It's important that we go back to the field, it doesn't get boring.
“It will be very, very difficult. We still have direct duels with Bayern and Leipzig.”
Dortmund was enjoying a successful season before the break and was just four points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
Dortmund becomes the latest Bundesliga club to resume training with Wolfsburg having been training at their base since last week.
Other teams in the division are expected to follow suit this week as the other leagues ponder to resume their respective competitions behind closed doors bar the Italian Serie A who has been badly hit by the virus.
