Burnley boss Sean Dyche roots for finishing Premier League season behind closed doors

Burnley boss Sean Dyche believes the Premier League should adopt the idea of playing the remaining games behind closed doors with a World Cup format.

Reports indicate that Premier League officials have given the same suggestions in their meetings as they ponder on ways to ensure that the current season is complete.

Dyche who admits that he is a fan of the proposal, however, said the same should only happen when it is deemed safe by the government.

"I think the think tanks of football are working overtime to look at how it can be done. The thing that is sometimes forgotten is the social, feelgood factor of football.

"You probably realise how big it is when it's completely shut down and you haven't got other sports of course. I know it shuts down in the summer, but you move on to other sports then,” Dyche is quoted by the Telegraph.

The move to play the remaining games in A world cup format would see teams placed in hotels isolated from their families while multiple games are played out behind closed doors and screened live on television.

Burnley is sitting 10th in the Premier League as they angle to qualify for the Europa League next season.
