LaLiga has been given the green light by the Spanish government to resume on June 8th.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez confirmed the return of LaLiga from June 8th in an address to the nation on Saturday.
"The time has come to resume many daily activities. From June 8, La Liga will return. Spanish football has a huge following," Sanchez said on Saturday.
LaLiga teams had already stepped up their training this week - after getting permission to do so in groups of no more than ten. All 20 teams have 11 games remaining, with Barcelona leading Real Madrid by two points at the top of the table.
League organizers have reportedly drawn up a highly detailed plan to ensure everyone's safety. The plan will only allow a maximum of 197 people inside the stadium on matchday and will see players and officials tested 24 hours before their fixture.
