AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is suspected to have picked up an Achilles tendon injury putting his season at risk.
Ibrahimovic returned to Italy two weeks ago from Sweden, where he had been training with Hammarby in a bid to prepare for a possible return of the Serie A. According to reports from the Gazetta Dello Sport, the former Manchester United striker hurt his calf in training but various outlets claim that the injury may also involve his Achilles tendon.
The injury could see the 38-year-old sidelined for weeks with the Italian league potentially restarting next, however, AC Milan have not given any update. The Italian football federation has set 20 August as the deadline for finishing the season, with the new campaign starting on 1 September.
