The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has simply highlighted that secret training sessions are a direct contravention of the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 Regulations.
It is believed that several Zambia Super League clubs have been meeting to hold aerobics and team-building exercises.
FAZ expressed disapproval of these reports via a posted letter late on Wednesday. “We have received numerous reports of clubs conducting clandestine training in direct contravention of the Ministry of Health COVID-19 Regulations and warnings issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sport. We have been reliably informed that some clubs are doing this under the subterfuge of aerobics and team-building exercises,” wrote FAZ.
“Such activities not only endanger the health and lives of all concerned but are in total disregard of the Government and FAZ directives that expressly prohibit them.
“All Clubs found wanting in this respect will be severely punished as the Football Association of Zambia as an affiliate of the National Sports Council of Zambia is duty-bound to obey all directives of the Government and respect the law of the land,” added the brief.
