Newcastle United coach Steve Bruce has revealed midfielder Matty Longstaff has been offered a 'wonderful' contract by the Magpies and now it's up to the player to make his decision.
Longstaff, who has been in fine form for Newcastle has attracted interests from a number of clubs including Manchester United. Earlier in the season, the midfielder turned down a long-term contract offer from Newcastle, thought to be in the region of £15,000 per week.
Meanwhile, Longstaff has been offered a lucrative contract by Serie A side Udinese.
"The ball is in young Matty's hands and we have made him a wonderful offer and, for me, this should be the way forward for him. We all would love him to stay but it is the player's prerogative. We have done everything we can," Bruce said.
The 20-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the month and talks over a renewal have failed to result in a new contract.
