DFB Pokal: Bayern Munich beat Bayer Leverkusen to complete season double

Once again Bayern Munich has confirmed their dominance of German domestic football, by clean sweeping the country’s two major trophies; the Bundesliga title, and last night, the DFB-Pokal.

In the 4-2 win against Bayer Leverkusen, David Alaba scored first in the 16th minute then Serge Gnarby doubled the Bavarians lead in the 24th minute.

It was right before the hour mark that Munich all but secured the win. It was none other than goal machine Robert Lewandowski who made it 50 goals in all competitions this season, with a venomous shot that appeared to go through Lukas Hradecky in goal.

However, the goal seemed to inspire the trailing side, and only four minutes later in the 63rd minute, they pulled on back. Sven Bender losing his man and beating Manuel Neuer from close range.

There was still more to come from 'Lewan-goal-ski' though, for all the power of his first goal, this one was a deft chip over the hapless keeper to make it four.

Peter Bosz’s side managed one more consolation goal, with Kai Havertz scoring from the penalty spot.
