SPAL fans are clearly not taking their side's relegation from the Serie A well.
A group of ultras is believed to have left a severed pig’s head outside the club's home grounds after protests, with the club dropping to the Serie B after three years at the top.
This has been addressed by the Serie A side, whose doom was confirmed earlier this month following a 2-1 loss at Brescia, before being thumped 6-1 at home to Roma in their next fixture.
“You can protest, but there are things you can and can’t do,” president Valentina Ferozzi said.
“I don’t know who it was who hung the banner on the training ground.
“But to use a poor pig’s decapitated head is in truly bad taste. It certainly does our fanbase no credit.
“They deserve better for the way they have always behaved.”
SPAL will play their last Serie A match on Sunday when they entertain Fiorentina.
