Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho downplays Alexander Sorloth links

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho remained tight-lipped when asked about the possibility of signing Trabzonspor striker Alexander Sorloth.

Mourinho is eager to bolster his frontline even more so following his side's 1-0 loss to Everton on Sunday evening.

Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu confirmed Spurs' interest in Sorloth who is currently on loan in Turkey from Crystal Palace.

"Well, I'm not going to discuss Sorloth. If the president of Trabzonspor told that I'm not going to say that it's not true," Mourinho said.

"I think Sorloth is a Trabzonspor player and it's not for me to speak about.

"Do we need a striker? Yes, we need one. Was it because of that we lost the game? No.

"We didn't lose the game because we need a striker. We lost the game and the responsibility of that defeat is my responsibility."

Spurs will travel to St Mary's on September 20 for their match against Southampton and they will be looking to bounce back from the disappointing loss.
