Mattéo Guendouzi will be joining Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin on loan with no option to buy, according to various reports.
The France U21s captain Guendouzi will travel to Germany to complete a season-long loan move to Hertha Berlin today. The loan fee is €0, but Hertha will take on the player’s wages for the duration of the 2020-21 season.
No purchase option for Guendouzi in his move to Hertha Berlin. He'll only have 12 months remaining on his contract come the end of that loan - asssuming club don't do 'a Chelsea - & likely will be worth a lot less than Arsenal might have imagined at this stage of last season.— James Benge (@jamesbenge) October 4, 2020
The 21year -old has been out of favour since the defeat to Brighton at Amex Stadium just after the Premier League restart, and although he has been integrated back into training, he has failed to make a single matchday squad so far this season.
Arsenal had aimed to generate a transfer fee from a possible sale but despite links to clubs such as Villarreal, Valencia and PSG, no significant offers have arrived.
