Roma have reached an agreement to sign Chris Smalling from Manchester United on a permanent deal worth £13.6m.
The defender spent the 2019/20 season at the Stadio Olimpico, with impressive displays convincing the club hierarchy to make the loan permanent.
In total, smalling made 30 appearances for Paulo Fonseca's side as they finished fifth and qualified for the Europa League.
The two sides were on Monday locked in negotiations for the defender, with reports indicating it could fall through as they failed to reach an agreement.
He becomes the latest player to leave Old Trafford, following the departure of the likes of Alexis Sanchez, who also made his loan move to Inter Milan permanent.
Meanwhile, United have signed Porto defender Alex Telles from Portugal side FC Porto.
