AFC leopards started their preseason preps with a 0-1 loss to Shabana FC on Tuesday afternoon.
Leopards battled the former Kenyan Premier League giants at the Gusii Stadium in an exhibition match to commemorate the Mashujaa Day but left with nothing with Fred Nyakundi goal in the first half being the difference.
Leopards will now head to a ten-day preseason camp in Iten where they are expected to get involved in friendly games as they sharpen their claws ahead of the new 2020/21 season that is set to Kick Off on November 20.
The team is expected to have a new coach in place before the week ends with Anthony Kimani scheduled to leave the country early next year to further his coaching studies; the former player to slot as an assistant to help with the transition while still around.
The team already named a 24-man team for the preseason. The team include:
Goalkeepers: Benjamin Ochan, Ezekiel Owade and Maxwell Mulili
Defenders: Robinson Kamura, Robert Mudenyu, Collins Shichenje, Washington Munene, Isaac Kipyegon, Lewis Bandi, Collins Shivachi, Yusuf Mainge and Omar Somobwana
