Manchester United 5-0 RB Leipzig: Marcus Rashford on a hat-trick as Red Devils ease past RBL

Manchester United produced a brilliant second-half performance as they beat Bundesliga side RB Leipzig 5-0 on Wednesday evening.

Marcus Rashford scored a hat-trick for United with Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial each grabbing a goal to hand the Red Devils huge victory at Old Trafford.

After a good start, United took the lead in the 21st minute through Mason Greenwood. Pogba drove at the heart of Leipzig's defense before sliding the ball through for Greenwood. The youngster made absolutely no mistake, firing a low shot past the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

In the 74th minute, Rashford made it 2-0 with the England international latching onto Fernandes' pass and he did exactly the right thing in finishing to score as VAR intervened and awarded the goal.

Four minutes later, Rashford grabbed a brace as he latched onto the loose ball just outside the penalty area. He burst past Upemecano before powering the ball past the goalkeeper.

United were handed a penalty after Sabitzer brought down Anthony Martial inside the box after the Frenchman was cleverly released by Fred. It was Martial who took the mandate to take the penalty, well, the goalkeeper got a hand top the ball but could not keep it out as the forward got off the mark for the season.

A minute to stoppage time, Edinson Cavani grabbed what looked like his first goal for the Red Devils but it didn't stand as it was ruled out for offside.

Rashford completed his hatrick in style with a powerful strike that capped a superb night for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men.
