Crystal Palace is willing to raid fellow Premier League rivals, Chelsea, in January for the services of left-back Marcos Alonso.
Palace is in the market for a new left-back with their first choice Patrick van Aanholt set to be out of contract at the end of the season and has earmarked Alonso as the player to fill that void should the Dutchman leave the club.
The Daily Mail reports that while the club is doing all they can to keep van Aanholt at the club, they might lose the player due to his ambitions of playing in Europe with Marseille's Jordan Amavi being another option for the Roy Hodgson’s side.
29-year-old Alonso has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and with the Euro 2020 coming up next year, he will have to play more games if he is to be considered by Spanish head coach Luis Enrique for the tournament.
The player hasn't featured for Chelsea since being substituted at half-time when they were 3-0 down to West Brom in September with reports saying that the player expressed his disappointment in the game by watching the second half of the game in the team bus something that angered manager Frank Lampard.
