Hudson-Odoi will get his 'chance', says Lampard

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard says Callum Hudson-Odoi will get his chance after the forward was left out of the team that settled for a goalless draw with Tottenham over the weekend.

Lampard admits he is not worried about the 'noise' after leaving Hudson-Odoi out of the weekend's clash while explaining the reasons for his decision. The Chelsea boss believes Callum has a fruitful long-term future at Chelsea while admitting there is competition in the player's position.

"I am aware of Callum and where he is at. He took it very well (missing Tottenham) and it is not an easy conversation to have because all players want to play, I expect that", he said.

"He will get his opportunities. It is up to him to show when he plays that he deserves to start because there is competition in that area. That's the reality of playing for Chelsea.

"I am not worried about the noise around it or the permutations of what not being in the squad will be down the line. I want him to understand where he's at at the minute, which is that he's getting better."

The Blues will be up against Sevilla on Wednesday evening in a Champions League tie as the pair fight for a top finish in Group E.
