Borussia Monchengladbach progressed to the Champions League knockout phase despite losing 2-0 away to Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
The Germans could have been knocked out if any of either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk won in the other group match, but the two played out a scoreless draw.
Karim Benzema's two headed first-half goals were all the Los Blancos needed to progress, and the Bundesliga outfit came in second.
With the match in Italy still going on after the final whistle at the Alfredo Stefano Stadium, the players found ways of watching the closing stages of the match at the San Siro, and they erupted in celebrations at the final whistle.

Monchengladbach's progression ensured there are four German teams in the next round, joining Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund.
Inter, on the other hand, failed to make it out of the group stages for the second year running, following their stumble in Antonio Conte's first season in charge.
