Leeds United recorded a 1-0 win over Burnley in an English Premier League clash staged at Elland Road in the early hours of Sunday afternoon.
Bamford was to score his tenth goal of the season from the penalty spot in the fifth minute of the game after the visitors keeper Nick Pope had bundled him in the box.
Despite the setback, Burnley had chances of their own with Chris Wood missing a chance to restore parity in the 34th minute after sending his header wide with the only the goalkeeper to beat; Bamford goal being the difference in the first half.
On resumption, Ashley Barnes was the other player to come close for Burnley as they worked to level the scores but his 73rd-minute effort from a point-blank range was saved by Illan Meslier in the hosts' goal.
The win saw Leeds move to 11th place in the Premier League with 20 points; a move that sees Arsenal return to position 15 despite beating Chelsea FC 3-1 on Saturday night.
