Jose Mourinho has admitted he is a 'fan' of Premier League side Southampton.
The Portuguese spoke after watching his Tottenham Hotspur side move to third in the standings with a 3-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday evening.
Mourinho's side next travel to face Aston Villa, who have impressed in the Premier League this season, and he knows the test that awaits his side.
“When we played the people who are considered the top six people say easier games are coming but I of course don't believe it," he said during an interview with BT Sport.
“Leeds are difficult and Aston Villa is my favourite team in the Premier League at the moment. I enjoy watching them, they have good players and are very well-coached. This is up next.”
Against Leeds, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min gave Spurs a 2-0 first-half lead, before Toby Alderweireld completed the scoring with a third four minutes into the second half.
The win, their first in five, moved them to third on the table, and Mourinho was impressed ahead of the short break from the league with attention shifting to the Carabao and the FA Cup.
“The three points are very important. I think we understood well how they could hurt us and how we could hurt them. In that aspect I am happy but I still think we can and have to do better.”
The Saints are currently ninth on the standigns on 26 points, seven off leaders Liverpool and Manchester United.
Up next for Mourinho is Brentford in the Carabao Cup, before an FA Cup tie against Marine.
