Independiente Del Valle has confirmed that young midfielder Moises Caicedo will be moving to Brighton and Hove Albion after they agreed on a fee.
The 19-year-old had strongly been linked with a move to Manchester United but it was reported that they pulled out of the deal with Brighton being just one of the many teams that were interested in the player.
"Everything is completed with a Premier club for Moises Caicedo. Today he is getting his work visa and between Wednesday and Thursday, we will announce it," Independiente's director of football Santiago Morales said on Tuesday via the Argus.
Caicedo himself admitted last month that it was his dream to play for Man United but that won't happen anytime soon. Asked about the player on Monday, Brighton boss Graham Potter refused to comment on the transfer.
Confirmed. Brighton now ‘confident’ to sign Moises Caicedo in the next days. The agreement with Independiente del Valle has been reached for €6m. #bhafc are now waiting for the work permit to complete the deal. 🔵
