πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡³πŸ‡± Bruno Fernandes impressed with his position competitor Van de Beek

Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes has expressed sympathy for Donny Van de Beek’s struggles for regular game-time.

Van de Beek was destined to be the heart of Man United’s attack when he made a €44 m move from Ajax Amsterdam last season, but the 23-year-old Dutchman has had to make-do with only 10 league appearances, mostly as a sub, from the club’s 18 games this season.

Bruno Fernendas, who has been the man manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has consistently named in van Beek’s position, has found a moment to recognize his struggling competitor’s quality.

“You see today we have players like Donny [van de Beek] who was not playing for a while and he did a really great game for me. I think playing in the position I normally play in, watching him, I think he moves really good,” the Portguese told the club’s media.

“[In the] first half he has a little more of the ball and he played really, really well. I think it’s important for us and for everyone to understand that everyone wants to play. Maybe if I was in the position of Donny, for example, I would not be happy at all. But the most important is doing what he does today, coming in and do the best he can and help the team,” added the former Sporting Lisbon star.

In the meantime, Man United are looking to maintain top spot as Sheffield United visit Old Trafford on Wednesday.
