Shaqiri turns down Hertha Berlin offer for Liverpool stay

Hertha Berlin's offer for Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri has reportedly been turned down by the player.

According to Sky Sports via Sport Witness, the Bundesliga side wanted to sign the Swiss winger on a short-term deal but the player refused the offer has he feels he has a vital role to play for The Reds in the title run-in.

Shaqiri has failed to cement his place at Anfield and the arrivals of Takumi Minamino and Diogo Jota have further dented his chances in the team. This isn't the first time the player has been linked with a move away from the club with AS Roma said to have enquired about his availability last summer.

The player has two years left on his Liverpool deal and has frequently been used as a back up for Mohammed Salah and he approaches his 30th year, he is likely to look for options if he has to play regularly.
