Roy Hodson’s Crystal Palace won't be allowing striker Christian Benteke to leave the club this January despite interests from league rivals West Bromwich Albion.
West Brom is in the market for a striker as they seek to fight relegation in the second half of the season and had earmarked Benteke as one player who could solve their goal scoring problems.
Sky Sports however now reports that Palace will be keeping the striker as they don’t have proper backup for Jordan Ayew and will be willing to let go of the Belgian for free in the summer.
The Belgian is said to be happy at the club too and has been handed starts in the club’s recent games; the player expected to decide his future when the season ends.
Benteke is yet to sign a new deal with the London club despite his contract with the club expires at the end of the current campaign.
